P7 2021-2022: Miss Finlay
Classroom assistants: Mrs Wallwin, Mrs Patterson & Mrs Reid
Hello and welcome to the Primary 7 class page! Primary 7 is a very busy, productive and enjoyable year. Pupils in Primary 7 are taught a broad curriculum, ranging from core Numeracy, Literacy and ICT, to Promoting Alternative Thinking Skills and topic based cross-curricular subjects. We cover a range of interesting topics, such as ‘The Victorians’, ‘Titanic’ and ‘Eco-Warriors’, as well as completing many mini projects and STEM based activities.
This is a very significant year for our students. As the oldest pupils in the school, we realise the importance of being great mentors for those in the younger classes. Members of P7 have the opportunity to become Class Buddies, House Captains, Rights Respecting Warriors, Eco Warriors and members of the School Council. We also provide an opportunity for pupils to engage in school plays and musical productions throughout the year. We complete an extensive Transitional programme for pupils, to prepare them for the next step in their educational journey.
Pupils in Primary 7 also participate in a residential trip in Term 3, allowing an opportunity for bonding, team work and well-being, before that final transition to Post-Primary.
Here are some of the fun activities that P7 have engaged in this term:
Regular updates and weekly Class Focus Sheets are distributed to each year group via their Class Dojo page.
